The Practice sent my husband and I letters inviting us to attend for our free NHS check. I made my appointment which was then cancelled on the day by text asking me to call to remake the appointment. I called and was told there were no appointments. We all know the NHS are struggling for funding but why waste precious resources sending out letters when you have no appointment slots. What a mess.
Definitely deteriorated since merger and new system of triage is dreadful.
Vile place. The receptionists are rude and that's when they answer the phone. Burton was a fantastic little practice. The merge has really brought them down. I got told by a female Doctor to take my tablets, eat yoghurt and get on with the pain. She was so rude. My baby boy was poorly and got told he just had a viral infection after 4 visits. The next day he couldn't breath and was blue lighted to Poole he had pneumonia!! I've tried complaining but I don't get anywhere. So please if you are looking for a new doctors.... skip this one!
The first time I visited this practice was very good, I didn't have to wait and the doctor was wonderful.
Just awful since the merger! Can rarely get through on the phones and when you do get through its rare that you can get an appointment. 95% of the people I have spoken with on the phones have been rude and unhelpful! I had to have a back problem diagnosed over the phone - had it stop taking the tablets and now am still struggling with bad back but cannot get an appointment. I called today to sort out mine and my three year olds holiday vaccinations and was told the earliest I could have an appointment to find out what vaccinations we need is in 6 weeks time! I said thats too close to when we travel and the lovely woman said she didnt know if it was too close, and that the NHS didnt have to provide any holiday vaccinations at all and if I didnt like it then I would have to pay to have them done privately. The rudest and most unhelpful person I have ever spoken with. I have now registered elsewhere online and shall hopefully be moving surgeries. Am gutted about this as I have been at this surgery - Orchard - since it opened, some of the doctors there I have known for years. I cannot fault the doctors or nurses, they are fantastic and Ill be sad to not deal with them anymore, but the telephone staff have ruined this surgery and are just so rude and unhelpful to patients.
