TERRIBLE DISASTER - We were forced to not stay - No RefundWe booked a twin room for 2 nights. I even phoned Customer Services when I booked to make sure it is a twin room with 2 standard size twin beds, as we cannot sleep on a double together due to health problems. They assured me it was going to be 2 standard size twin beds. When we checked in she allocated us a room with a double bed and single which would have been fine. We got to the room and it was a normal double bed which was great but with a pop-up camp size super narrow childrens bed with springs poking into your back, as I tried laying down on it. This was not a standard size single bed for adults, it was for a child. Ones shoulders didnt even fit on properly. They then offered us 2 other rooms, but all with these tiny beds. These tiny beds are fine for children but not a adult as they are so narrow your shoulders hand off and they are super thin matresses with springs poking out. I could not sleep for 2 nights on something that is clearly not a standard size single bed. According to Travelodge customer service these are quote " Their standard size beds " not the standard adopted by the rest of mankind when it comes to a single bed which should be 91 wide (theirs is about 75cm wide) - According to them this is what customers have chosen - I think not.The receptionist was terribly rude and implied that we are complaining for no reason and that those are standard size single beds. They most certainly were not even close. She refused to call the manager when my husband insisted. She implied we should not be complaining. It was simply impossible for us to sleep on beds intended for children at the most. She had me in tears making out we are the only ones whom ever complained about the small beds. I see many reviews on Tripadviser pointing out the same issue with these tiny beds. Well, we were forced to leave and go and pay for a last minute booking somewhere costing us 3 times the amount. It was freezing cold outside, dark and we had to go in the night to now find something as we were exhausted after just moving house and feeling quite ill at this point with stress. They refused to give our money back and even Travelodge Customer services has now sent me 2 emails saying they have no intention of giving us any sort of refund as we chose to leave the hotel.WE DID NOT CHOOSE TO LEAVE THE HOTEL, WE WERE FORCED TO LEAVE.This is shocking treatment of guests and we will never use Travelodge again if this is theirpolicy of deceptively selling rooms as standard twins and then trying to force you to sleep on tiny camp beds with hideous matresses. This experience has left us quite speechless. Travelodge's Customer Service last quote to me by email today was:" unfortunately we will not be offering you anything further in this case. Although we do sympathise with the poor experience endured during this stay with us I'm afraid we will not be processing a further gesture of apologyE. Barnes "We did not even stay in the hotel and they admit we had a poor experience but they say its just tough and they will not apologise or offer any refund for the 2 nights accomodation we paid for and was forced to abandon.SHOCKING !!!
Perfect location. Great 4 night break with the family and the dog. Can't fault it.
Simple clean and cheap place to sleep
I would give it 5 stars but the pillows were terrible, didn't sleep much. The place itself was fine.
Nice enough place. Nothing really fancy, but also, nothing bad either.Far to expensive for a 3 star, however the room was spotless clean, well maintained, comfortable & the front staff could not have been nicer & more helpful for me as I had never stayed there, or that area of town before. It was a last minute resort as the guest house I normal stay in was fully booked, that said, if I needed somewhere again I would happily stay here again. Strange thing, we had a family room that sadly did NOT have any baby equipment, a fridge nor an ironing board but did have a bottle opener for a beer !
