Had Christmas lunch there on Christmas day. Lovely staff & good champagne but a bit pricey! Food rather disappointing!

Having been to Splinters for 30 years + I was disappointed a week ago when, taking a friend there for dinner. The food was good, but the place now looks decidedly tired and worn and in need of a good clean and update. We were the only 2 people there for the entire evening! We tried to engage the waiter in cheerful conversation, but he appeared not interested. Please get the place up to scratch and the atmosphere what it once was.
Excellent food, tasty and cooked as requested. We had three courses and could not find fault with anything. Also accommodated gluten and dairy free needs with options not on the menu. Brilliant
